The Gundam Wing Big Bang community is the central location for both Big Bang (closed) and Reverse Big Bang (currently looking for authors). Big Bang and Reverse Big Bang are annual fandom challenges, the first requiring authors to create novella length stories (with a minimum word count of 15,000 words) which are then claimed by artists who create artwork to accompany them. Reverse Big Bang is a challenge for artists, requiring a maximum of 2 pieces of art, which are then claimed by authors who write stories with a minimum of 5,000 words using the art as a prompt.
These challenges serve two purposes: to introduce more fan works into the Gundam Wing community, and to bring fandom authors and fandom artists together in collaboration.
